✖ GAME ⬛ DESIGN ⬤ PLAY ▶︎
A student-organized crash-course on game design and escaperooms for when you want to know what goes on behind the curtain in games, escaperooms, and other playful experiences.
📆 Monday 10 March
⌚ 12:40 to 13:30
📌 RA 2231
"LEARNING VIA PLAY, IS THE ONLY CONSISTENT WAY OF LEARNING IN HUMAN EVOLUTIONARY HISTORY" (Grey, 2013)
🎓 From students, for students, in this talk Cornée will dive into the world behind game design and escaperooms (and potentially how this relates to learning). With a bachelor in immersive design and being active in designing & running escaperooms and TTRPGs he can give a peek behind the curtain of game design.
The talk will be an introduction to a larger follow-up workshop where you will actively design your own EST escapegame (if there is enough interest).
🎫 If you are unable to physically participate, choose the online ticket so we know who to invite for the online stream.
What makes a game and when are players actually playing? In educational sciences we often use gamified systems for helping other people learn, but we only research effects, rarely is the focus on how to design. So, ... how do you actually go about designing these?!
